Bryan Tolentino

Program Assistant, Health Care and Coverage

Bryan Tolentino is a member of the Blue Shield of California Foundation Health Care and Coverage (HCC) team working directly with the Chief Program Director. He provides support to various HCC projects revolving around strengthening California’s safety net, supporting innovations that expand healthcare coverage, and expanding coverage to populations left out of health reform. Mr. Tolentino also carries out the HCC contracting process and coordinates the Foundation’s program team activities.

Mr. Tolentino joined the Foundation after moving to San Francisco from the East Coast. He hails from Rhode Island, but spent several years in Washington, D.C. where he obtained a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the George Washington University. He initially worked as an AmeriCorps Jumpstart tutor, promoting literacy in at-risk preschoolers. Shortly afterward, he was awarded a Pearson Teacher Fellowship, learning teacher’s best practices for managing a pre-school classroom. Mr. Tolentino went on to become a teacher in a Head Start preschool prior to moving westward. Mr. Tolentino enjoys exploring the great outdoors of California, discovering music, and learning how to play various instruments.
